From Rottnest Island to Optus Stadium: A Few of My Favourite Gigs So Far

Eight years ago, I took a leap of faith and turned my lifelong passion for music into a business.

After spending a decade teaching business, I decided it was time to follow the dream I'd had since I was a teenager, becoming a professional DJ & MC. Along the way, I took a two-year break while living in London, embracing a new adventure before returning home to Perth. Now I'm back full-time, doing what I love most...creating unforgettable experiences through music.

One of the best parts of being a DJ is that no two events are ever the same. Every celebration has its own atmosphere, every crowd has its own energy, and every playlist tells a different story. Whether it's a corporate gala, awards night, wedding or private celebration, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of so many special moments.

Here are a few of the gigs that have been particularly memorable.

West Tech Fest – Rottnest Island

DJing at West Tech Fest on Rottnest Island was an experience I'll never forget.

I also had the opportunity to DJ the closing West Tech Fest party, with Bill Tai (Kite VC) as a special guest. The energy on the island that night was incredible, an inspiring mix of innovation, celebration and people coming together after a huge week.

Rottnest Island is already one of Western Australia’s most iconic locations, but combining that backdrop with such a vibrant crowd made it even more special.

It’s a great reminder that great events aren’t just about the venue or the music—they’re about the people and the atmosphere you create together.

Crown Towers Perth

There’s something special about the anticipation just before guests arrive at a gala dinner or awards night.

I’ve had the privilege of performing at Crown Towers for corporate events, including nights such as WiTWA (Women in Technology WA) and the Kai Fella Charity Ball, where every detail has been carefully planned and the atmosphere is truly electric.

My role is to help bring the evening together, creating the right energy during dinner, supporting formal proceedings when required, and then building the momentum as the celebrations unfold.

There’s nothing better than watching a room transform from polished and formal to a packed dance floor full of smiling faces.

WiTWA Awards, Optus Stadium

Performing at Optus Stadium was definitely a career highlight.

As one of Perth's most iconic venues, it's an incredible place to entertain, and being trusted to DJ there was something I'm very proud of.

While venues like Optus Stadium are impressive, what really makes an event memorable is the people. My focus is always on understanding the audience, reading the room and creating the soundtrack that keeps guests engaged from the first song to the last.

Stunning Wedding at Yanchep Caves

Not every unforgettable venue has bright lights and grand ballrooms.

DJing and MCinng at a stunning wedding in Yanchep Caves was a completely different experience, surrounded by natural beauty and a unique atmosphere that made the event feel truly special.

Every venue has its own personality, and I love finding the right music to complement the setting while creating an experience guests will remember.

Every Event Matters

When I look back over the past eight years, I'm incredibly grateful for every opportunity I've been given. These venues may be some of the highlights, but the truth is every gig has been amazing. Whether I'm entertaining at a major corporate event, celebrating with a couple on their wedding day, DJing a milestone birthday or helping bring an awards night to life, each event is memorable because of the people I'm celebrating with.

That's what I love most about this job. Music brings people together. It creates memories, fills dance floors and turns ordinary evenings into occasions that guests talk about long after the last song has played.

After my London adventure, it's wonderful to be back in Perth full-time, working with fantastic clients across Western Australia and doing what I love every week.
